• Before the procedure.

The overall procedure is carried out in a couple of hours. The chest region is numbed by local anaesthesia, and you may or may not be awake during the operation.

• During the procedure.

A flexible wire is inserted from the shoulder to the heart through the help of X-ray images. Once the proper potion of the heat is located, then one end of the wire of the pacemaker is positioned appropriately on the heart while the other is attached to the pulse generator which is underneath your skin.
