The purpose of visit to India for the applicants of medical visa should exclusively be their medical treatment.
Treatment for the patient should be sought at specialized/recognized/reputed hospitals in India.
Two medical attendants can accompany patient during his/her medical travel to India. The medical attendants can be his/her family, relatives or associates.
A medical visa is granted for a non-exhaustive list of treatments that includes cardiac treatment, neurology treatment, organ transplants, gene therapy, congenital disorders, orthopedic treatments, tumors and others.
Print of the completely and legibly filled online visa application form.
A current color photograph of size 3.5cm x 3.5cm.
Photocopy of the passport with validity of 6 months.
An official letter of treatment and recommendation from the doctors treating the patient in Kyrgyztan.
An official letter from the concerned hospital in India, stating the patient’s and his/her medical attendants details and the duration of the treatment.
Documents to prove the availability of sufficient funds for the required treatment in India.
Go to the government website, Indian Visa Online and click on Regular Visa Application.
Enter your country name, high commission, date of birth, nationality, email id, expected date of arrival in India and the visa type. Type the access code and press continue.
In the three page online visa application form click on Save and Continue at the bottom after you finish providing your details for each of them.
Enter your family address and your occupation.
Enter the medical visa application details about the local hospital where you were treated or diagnosed in your country, the hospital in India where you will be having your treatment, the time taken for the treatment in India, number of visa entries, the purpose of your visit to India, expected date of departure from your country, expected date of arrival in and departure from India and details about SAARC country visit and reference.
Upload a recent colored photograph pertaining to the following criteria:
It should be of JPEG format.
The size of the photo should not exceed 300kb. Minimum size should be of 10kb.
The photo should have equal height and width.
The head should be at the center of the frame, full view (from top of hair to bottom of chin), front face, eyes open.
The head should measure 25 mm to 35 mm. The eye height should be 1 to 1/8 inches – 1-3 inches.
The background should be either white or light colored.
There should be no shades on the face or the background.
The photo should not have any borders.
A preview of the filled formed will appear on a new window after you have clicked on Save and Continue at the bottom of the last page.
Go through the details. To rectify any data entered by you in the form, click on Modify/Edit.
Click on Verified and Continue if the data entered by you does not require any change.
Go through the set of instructions that appear on a new window right after it and click on OK for the final registration. If you have to change any information in the form, click Cancel.
Select the date of appointment for the submission of your medical visa application from the new window that appears right after you click OK. Click on Confirm the Appointment after you have selected the date.
Two options will be provided to you in the window that will appear thereafter on your screen. Save your visa application.
Click on Print Registered Application to acquire the hardcopy of your online application form.
Put your signature on the rectangular box just below the photo box on the first page and in the box at the bottom of the second page.
Submit the application form along with the required documents at the Mission Counter in the appointed date during the working hours. The appointed date that you have chosen is mentioned at the right margin of the application.
The medical visa processing fee from Kyrgyzstan to India is:
One working week is required to process the Indian medical visa from Kyrgyzstan for Kyrgyz nationals, whereas two working weeks are required for non-Kyrgyz nationals.

Medical visa requires extension when the patient requires some more days for the completion of his treatment or his/her complete recovery. In order to extend ones medical visa, he/she would require an official letter from the concerned hospital authorities stating his/her medical condition, treatment procedure and the number of days extra that will be required for his/her complete recovery. The patient or the medical attendant accompanying him/her then has to go to the FRRO office along with the letter issued by the hospital and other required documents to apply for a medical visa extension.
Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) deals with and administers the registration, departure, visa extension and other official records regarding foreigners’ arrival and stay in the country. Once patients from abroad arrive in India, they have to get themselves registered in the FRRO office. The documents required for the registration is listed below:
